Locks Canal Seine Nord

To facilitate larger container vessels a new canal in the North of France will be constructed to connect the Seine river with the Schelde river. The design vessel is Class Vb. The canal with a length of approximately 90 km will include 6 new locks with water saving basins and various (large) heads, from 15 m up to 25 m. The locks will be designed by Alive vof. The explicit type of lock will be chosen after an elaborate multi criteria analysis based on a given short levelling time.
